Set Up A WordPress Blog From Scratch

Do you want your own website, would you like to set up a  WordPress blog from scratch so that you can put your business online? If you have been running any type of business for any amount of  time, than you know how important it is for you to have your very own website on the internet. In this article I will show you step by step exactly how to set up a WordPress  blog for your business.

Setting up a  WordPress  blog is really not difficult at all. There's really only three steps involved and once you have those three steps conquered, all you'll need to do next is perfect your skills. There are two types of  WordPress blogs that can be set up to represent your website. You can do either a  Hosted (ie: WordPress.com) blog or a  Self Hosted (ie: WordPress.org) blog

Set Up A WordPress Blog ~ Difference Between WordPress.com &  WordPress.org

The major difference between a WordPress.com & a WordPress.org is that WordPress.com will host your website for you under their terms and conditions, which can be very risky. Whenever you create a website of your own, you always want to make sure you have complete control over your content. The reason being is because if you have been running your website for quite some time under WordPress rules and regulations, and say for instance you put a piece of content on your site that they don't approve of, than WordPress will have the power to shut your website down with no regards to all of your hard work and dedication if they are the one hosting your site. 

So you see by hosting your own site using the WordPress.org as your platform, you will have full control over all of the content you put on your site and the only person that could shut you down is you.

So enough talk I'm pretty sure you came to learn how to set up your website so lets not waist anymore time and get started.

In the following videos I am going to go through each step one by one. My suggestion to you is that you open up a new browser window and follow along with the video. I have left the controls on so that you may pause, rewind, or fast forward the video as needed.

By the time you are finished the last video you will have your very own  WordPress  blog set up and ready to go. Then I will show you how to customize every aspect of your site. So lets get started.

Tip: Remember when registering your domain the dot.com is the more expensive around 9.99 cents a year. You can also register a dot.info for as little as 1.99 cents per year and up

Tip: Don't forget to check your email account, this is where you will find your login information for Godaddy and your login information for your Hostgator c-panel which is where all the maintenance. 

Tip: It may take between 30 secs and 24hrs for your Domain Nameservers to fully port over to Hostgator when you change them in the system as I showed you how to do in the video so be patient. 

Tip: A quick way to log into your Hostgator account is directly from your domain. You do this by typing your domain as follows. (http://yourdomain.com/cpanel) and that should take you to the login screen of your cpanel account. All you do next is enter the Username and Password that Hostgator sent to you through your email.

Tip: Congratulations by now you should have your blog set up and I also taught you how to do a simple sales page.
